Endeavor Games 2011

Congratulations to Jamie, Larry, Greg and Dustin for their vigilant efforts at the Endeavor Games in Oklahoma 2011! Team OPT brought home medals in every event competed in, which consisted of: Cycling, archery, shooting, table tennis and wheelchair basketball. Jamie and Greg each took home a gold in their class for the cycling time trials.Greg LaKomski finished with an amazing 32 minutes in this 12 miles race.

 

 

 

For Jamie Schanbaum, this was her first competitive 12 mile race full of rolling hills and she also took home a gold! Jamie will go on to compete in this year's Juniors, U23, Elite & Paralympic Nationals in Augusta, Georgia June 22 to 26 .

 

Larry Hovey competed in two events, taking home a gold in archery and bronze in the shooting. Larry had never competed or even touched a competition bow or air rifle until attending the UCO Endeavor clinics. Larry being 68 years old was also honored as the oldest competitor and medalist participating in the games!

Dustin Strelsky competed in two events, taking home a gold in table tennis and silver in wheelchair basketball. Dustin is going on to compete in the Endeavor Athletes Foundation first annual wheelchair basketball tournament July 9, 2011 in Austin, Texas.
