OPT Testimonials

Nick
"Well here I am back riding my motorcycle after nearly a year away from it. It is a wonderful feeling actually getting to ride again. It is amazing what can happen in the blink of an eye to change your life forever. I set my goal and focus on getting back to what I love the most in life and with a lot of prayer, guidance and the wonderful staff at OPT I finally made it! "

Susanne
"In 1984, my left leg was severely damaged in a car accident. For 25 years I lived with the pain as my leg slowly deteriorated. Even after multiple surgeries the function of my leg decreased and the pain became intolerable; my daily activities were more and more limited. Life was passing me by. Eventually the doctors had to amputate my lower leg. This felt like a death sentence. Thankfully, I made contact with Frieda from OPT and she helped me through my darkest hours. Her knowledge, experience and support kept me moving forward as my Dr. had recommended surgery and I just could not make that decision without more information. When I was ready, OPT worked to make my transition to a prosthetic leg smooth. Kevin is a peach and works tirelessly to make sure his patients are 100% satisfied with their prosthetics. Thanks to OPT, I have moved from a life of immobility and pain to a life full of possibilities."

Rhonda
"My name is Ronda and I'm a below the knee amputee. Before the car accident that ended up taking my leg, I was a very active wife and mother, who enjoyed cycling, golf and softball. I was afraid I'd never be able to do these things again after the amputation. Then, I was fortunate enough to meet the truly wonderful people at OPT! They not only gave me the encouragement I needed, but the right prosthesis to make it possible, as well.
Susan, my prosthetist, made me feel like I was her only patient and spent plenty of time with me to be sure the new prosthesis was going to be perfect...and it was! It fits so well and is so comfortable that sometimes I forget I'm wearing a prosthesis. I'm not only back to doing the activities I enjoy, but can go on those all day "shop-a- thons" with my teenage daughter (and she tires before I do!). I am so thankful to OPT for all they've done to help me get back to my normal life! I don't know where I'd be without them. They are angels, all of them!"

"I met Aaron Foreman several years ago at a local bike race. I had finished a short race and the prosthetic I was using at the time caused me considerable pain. Aaron introduced himself , looked at my riding leg, told me how impressed he was with my racing and that he knew he could make a leg that would work better. I was shocked that someone actually cared. From that day forward, my cycling and my belief in my own capabilities has done nothing but improve. Aaron and his staff are the cheerleaders that get me through the inevitable setbacks that go along with being an athlete. I really think I would have given up if it wasn’t for the OPT team.
Racing bicycles as an amputee stresses my body and equipment in extreme ways. As
an elite cyclist himself, Aaron understands how the smallest issues with fit and
setup become intolerable after long miles in the saddle and will not stop until
we get them resolved. This insight gives Aaron a unique perspective in creating
prosthetics that allow me to continue to compete against able bodied athletes at
preinjury levels with amazingly little stump discomfort. Its one thing to know
how to make a prosthetic, you have to know WHY to make it a certain way and
there are very few others that are as good as OPT in knowing why.
I really cannot thank these folks enough for their expertise and support and would recommend Aaron and OPT to anyone that wants the best of care and the best who really do care."
